ABOUT MARK FARNER
Mark Farner was the guitarist and lead singer for Grand Funk Railroad, as well as the songwriter for most of their material. He wrote the iconic "I'm Your Captain (Closer to Home)," "Some Kind Of Wonderful," and the hit "Bad Time," which became the last of the band's four singles to reach the top 5 on the Billboard Hot 100. By 1971, Grand Funk achieved a major milestone by equaling the Beatles' Shea Stadium attendance record and selling out the venue in just 72 hours, whereas the Beatles' concert took weeks to sell out.

Farner is of Native American descent and received the Lakota Sioux Elders Honor Mark in 1999. Members of the Lakota Nation later honored him with a hand-made ceremonial quilt. He was also awarded the Cherokee Medal of Honor by the Cherokee Honor Society.

ABOUT DAVID SPERO
David Spero, a rock-radio pioneer since the 1970s, is a highly regarded music manager known for his work with iconic artists such as Michael Stanley, Ringo Starr’s All-Star Band, Joe Walsh, Yusef Islam (formerly Cat Stevens), Dickey Betts, The Funk Brothers, The Raspberries, Ted Neeley, and Harry Nilsson, among others. He is credited with bringing the Eagles back together. Humble Pie credits David with playing a pivotal role in breaking their band in the US.

Meet The Artist: May Pang

Step into the world of rock 'n roll history this weekend at O Museum in the Mansion, where May Pang will showcase an exclusive collection of photographs from her time with John Lennon during the iconic "Lost Weekend." This unique exhibit unveils moments captured during the 18-month affair that took place in Los Angeles, a period of freedom and self-discovery for Lennon.

At just 19, May Pang found herself thrust into the role of personal assistant to John Lennon and Yoko Ono. But as Lennon and Ono’s relationship began to crumble, Ono introduced Pang as Lennon’s temporary lover. The "Lost Weekend" was more than just a romantic entanglement—it was a transformative time for Lennon, who immersed himself in L.A.'s vibrant music scene and began to rebuild his bond with his estranged son, Julian.

This captivating exhibit will feature three never-before-seen photos of Lennon, along with additional images that document their time together. According to Pang, these images offer an intimate look at Lennon during a time of personal growth—capturing him in a relaxed, sober state as he reconnected with his music and his own sense of self. Don’t miss this rare opportunity to experience rock history through the lens of a woman who was there, witnessing it all.

Through The Looking Glass

Through The Looking Glass

Step into a whimsical world of Lewis Carroll and other cherished children's book characters to see Alice, The Queen of Hearts, Winnie the Pooh, Piglet, Peter Rabbit, and many more iconic creations come to life through a mesmerizing ensemble of meticulously crafted bronze sculptures.

The genesis of this one-in-the-world exhibition traces back to the RHS Chelsea Flower Show in London, where Leonards, who created The Mansion and the O Museum in 1980, was captivated by a remarkable collection of handmade bronze sculptures.

The Robert James Studio, which created the exhibit, is a three-time, five-star winner at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, considered the pinnacle of horticultural excellence in the UK.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
James Coplestone has been making art works of various kinds for nearly 30 years.

Living in the rolling hills of West Dorset, England, his sculptures — based upon his love of literature are taking shape. Classic illustrations modeled in clay and then turned into bronze.

He uses old tools and finger prints to press, move and model clay into position to capture the breath of the character... as if they have momentarily stepped out of the book into the three dimensional world.
